Come celebrate STLwinegirl’s 15 year anniversary with an interactive tasting party - inspired by fifteen people, places, wines, foods, and experiences that have influenced my career!
WITH SPECIAL GUEST
SOMMELIER AND WINEMAKER
ANDRÉ HUESTON MACK
Monday February 26
6:30pm - 9pm
Mai Lee Restaurant
From honoring my mentors and colleagues throughout the years to showcasing memorable foods and wines from my time working in San Francisco, New York, and St. Louis, the evening will feature dishes, drinks, and pairings that highlight her journey from a college student working in chain restaurants to studying the finest foods and wines in five-star restaurants and hotels across the country. Look for special nods to STLwinegirl events and collaborations over the years as well as spotlights on the St. Louis wine industry and the many sommeliers and wine professionals that have helped advance the availability and enthusiasm for wine in a classic beer town.
Guests can expect everything from St. Louis BBQ and toasted ravioli to fresh oysters, sushi, and San Francisco classics, and of course specialties from Mai Lee and Nudo House. All with curated wine pours and pairings with distinct emphasis on wines from St. Louis-based sommelier and winemaker Michael Kennedy (Fraiche Wine Group - SOM wines, Component, Gagnon Kennedy) and famed sommelier, winemaker, and host of YouTube’s #1 wine show, André Mack (Maison Noir Wines). Interactive experiences will include a wine aroma station, a play on the fine dining cheese cart experience, and a “geek grape” table pouring local sommeliers’ favorite obscure wines. Specialty cocktails from Dane Davis (21c Hotel / Idol Wolf), local beer, and NA beverages will also be available.

Since 2009, Angela Ortmann has independently owned and operated STLwinegirl, specializing in events, education, consultation, and marketing. What started as a personal blog (and the first St. Louis wine-based social media account) became an adventure in entrepreneurship and a gamble to pave her own path in the food, wine, and hospitality industry. Through this ever-growing venture, she has executed over 200 events; taught more than 250 wine classes, pairings, and tastings; consulted for close to 100 restaurants; provided sommelier services to dozens of establishments; written 300+ food and drink articles for local and national publications; made over 100 appearances on TV and radio media; has been featured numerous times in dozens of magazines and print media; and run the social media content for countless restaurants, food and beverage brands, local food and drink festivals. As a well-established and recognized brand, she continues to find creative new ways to share her passion for food and drink and make that world more accessible and approachable for everyone. In 2017, Ortmann also launched a philanthropic arm to her business called Love To Eat, Eat To Love and has raised over $65,000 for local non-profit and charity organizations.
